Thrills and Sights to Experience at Heights

Last week’s post Have a Blast with a Splash was for the thrill seekers with a passion for splashin’ at Niagara Falls. This week however, we are taking to the skies.

The first activity worth mentioning is a real whirlwind. The National Helicopters Inc. Grand Helicopter Tour allows adventurers to fly above Niagara Falls and the surrounding scenic area for 20 whole minutes. This allows you to see the 3,160 tons of water flowing over Niagara Falls every second as if it was right beneath your feet, creating a sense of dizzying wonder. You will also get to experience the rolling hills of the wine country that makes the Niagara Region famous worldwide from your unique vantage point.

    If you are looking for soaring fun a little closer to the ground, or maybe on a little bit of a smaller budget, I recommend the Wildplay’s Mistrider Zipline. This experience is a 2,200 feet long zipline made off our parallel lines that shoot passengers towards the falls at 40+ mph. While this ride is a little closer to home than the helicopter tour, don’t worry about missing out on the extra height as this ride is still a breezy 220 feet off the ground. Also, if you are looking to make this ride extra special, I recommend the Mistrider at night to see the falls lit up with their famous light show and fireworks display.
